I love my customers! Sometimes I just can't think of a new pattern but then a customer comes to me and says "Can you make something like...?" and the inspiration begins and a new pattern is born. This pattern is for a baby who isn't even born yet, but I sure can't wait to see her wearing it.
Excuse the lousy picture. I can't believe I did this, but I shipped it off to its new owner without taking pictures of it! So silly. I had only snapped this quick shot on my phone to send to my customer.
This pattern is only available in size 0-3 months. I haven't had a chance to sit down and work up the specific instruction to make it in bigger sizes. It would be easy enough to figure out, I'm sure. If you used my Basic Hat Patterns, you would just have slightly fewer rows because some of your rows are double crochet and therefore taller.
The pattern uses a combination of half double and double crochet stitches to make the stripes different sizes. It's a fun little hat. I used aqua, but obviously your accent color and bow could be any color that you wanted it to be.
Supplies:
- Crochet hook size I
- Worsted weight yarn in gray, white, and aqua (I used Red Heart Soft for this hat)
- Scissors
- Yarn needle

isn't twisted at all.

Rounds
2-4: Repeat round one.
Round
5: SC around. Join to 1st SC of round. Fasten off.
Weave in loose ends.
Trim:
Turn bow upside down and reattach yarn. You will be crocheting
into the foundation chain you began with. SC in each stitch of the
foundation chain. This will make the top and bottom of the bow match
with a row of single crochet stitches on each.
Find
the middle of the bow and wrap yarn around it tightly until you are
happy with the bow that is formed. Tie off, leaving a long strand for
sewing it onto the hat.
Attach
the bow to the hat so that it lines up with the aqua stripe. Sew on
tightly, and weave loose ends in.
